As diaried previously by ffour, CEO of internet advertising company, RadiumOne, didn't receive any jail time for reportedly hitting his wife over 100 times in the space of a half hour. He therefore can still remains on the board of the company.

Slate's Jordan Weissman provides the details of the case and calls for an investment boycott of the company so long as Chahal remains on the board.

But non-investors can register their displeasure as well by opting out of the company's advertising technology. RadiumOne's technology targets advertising to you based on your browser history and unlike some of the unscrupulous ad firms of the past, they do provide an opt out option on their privacy page, http://www.radiumone.com/....

Note that you have to do this in every browser and it will not stop all gathering of data by RadiumOne. BUT, since their business model depends in part on being able to gather as much data as possible, I would think that if enough people opted out, it would start to have an impact.

In the past, I've opposed boycotts that Daily Kos members have run because they have targeted people for their speech and I don't believe that people should be punished economically for saying what they believe even if I find it repugnant. But this is not about something someone said. This is about a person's actions toward another human being that are totally unacceptable and I'm all for boycotts against that.
